We kindly invite you to this interdisciplinary conference organized by Department of Visual Culture, Faculty of Education, University of West Bohemia in Pilsen in cooperation with CiCe European Commission Erasmus Academic Network project, London Metropolitan University, Asociation of Media Pedagogy and supported by Visegrad Fund.

The mission

New social, political and cultural conditions and development within changing Europe influenced concept of citizenship especially in V4 countries who shared common totalitarian experience. Identity started to become very actual theme. Concept of identity is very complex and can be examined from many points of view such as psychological, social, educational, cultural and of media.

The conference aspire to create a space for serious discussion about these aspects and open it to experts from the relevant fields in order to help understand differences, pick up common themes, improve interdisciplinary cooperation and follow the needs of educational and research practice with respect to specifics of V4 countries in European context. It should lead to curriculum improvement and implementation of the Citizenship and Culture Education (CCE). The dialogue between educators and researchers focused on themes related to children’s identity and CCE should also offer the possibility to articulate national goals, needs, specifics and stereotypes pointing out the specifics of V4 countries in broader European context.

The topic will be discussed at two platforms: 1/ research conference and 2/ round table (lead by prof. Allistair Ross, Emeritus Professor at London Metropolitan University and Visiting Professor at the University of Bedfordshire, Jean Monet ad personam professor).
